Patient’s Guide To Specialist Appointment
For Emergency:
Call SCDF ambulance at 995 or visit the respective hospital Accident and Emergency (A&E) department for medical attention if it is an emergency. Do not wait for your next appointment.
Check if you need any prior preparation before the appointment?

Ask the doctor who refer you or attended to you if you need to fast before the appointment.

Ask the doctor who refer you or attended to you if you need any other prior preparations such as observing certain diet or making sure you are not menstruating (for female patient) before the appointment.
What to bring for your appointment?
Bring along the following original documents for your registration:

NRIC or Birth Certificate (if you are below 12 years old), or Passport/Employment Pass/Work permit if you are a foreigner

Referral Letter

Any medical benefit identification documents (e.g. Civil Service Card, Medical Benefits Card, Insurance Cards, Staff Pass etc)

Drug allergy information
-
Medical record information you may possess

Xray, Ultrasound, CT Scan or MRI films if you possess them
What to expect when you arrived for your appointment?

Depending on the medical speciality and reason for your consultation, you may be advised to come earlier for investigation procedures prior to your consultation with the specialist doctor before your the appointment time.

Check with your specialist or the doctor who attends to you or call the hospital or clinic hotline to clarify if you are not sure.

Please proceed to the registration counter when you arrive at the clinic.
